My Reflective Journey

This blog is in response to my Leadership in Technology class. Here I will attempt to make sense of the issues discussed in class, and technology in the world in general.

Let's Get Started

Ok, here it is, my first experience at blogging. I'm starting this blog as a requirement for my Master's course on Leadership in Technology. It's hard to lead if you are not familiar with the technologies, especially those that our students in our schools are using. After reading several blogs on different websites, I've realized that this can get addictive though! It's a good way to keep up with what's happening with your favourite author, news, and commentary. I am a little nervous to think that anyone can read this however.

Here's some information about myself...
I'm currently a Media Specialist at a K-8 school, love to read children's and YA literature, and history books, but never have enough time, and also wish I had more time to scrapbook. In case you've noticed, time is always a problem for me, not helped by the fact that I sometimes tend to procrastinate, although I have gotten better since college with that. I a also addicted to chocolate, especially dark chocolate.

I also tend to use stream of consciousness writing in my personal journal, and it looks like this will be no exception!

I will be graduating this August, after working on my Master's for 3 years now. Although I had taught in a school library for 7 years prior to beginning my graduate work, I have realized that experience is no substitute for actual courses. I have learned information theory, organization, literature, technology, and leadership in my previous courses. I have also become more confident in my skills and my writing. I will be glad when I no longer have to pay tuition or study though! I'm ready to have a life again.

Okay, enough of an introduction. I'll be back to share thoughts about how I'm progressing later this week.
